Stevan Dupor traveled to Long Beach, CA this January to attend his first The Special Event Tradeshow and Conference. The event was billed as "THE" events and meetings tradeshow to attend, and it did not disappoint. I attended the event primarily for education, but I also toured the exhibit hall on both days it was open. I was surprised at the number of people I connected in person with who I already knew via email/telephone.
Over three days, I attended approximately 20 hours of classroom-style training. There are a number of training "tracks," including Business Development, Design, Catering, Weddings, etc. I chose classes based on my business and personal development goals, which were across the spectrum of available courses. After many pages of notes, and numerous valuable take-aways, I would like to announce a renewal of core company values for 2017, and several new company goals for the year:
Relationships: Working together on an event is a potentially long-term relationship between Vendor-Planner-Client-Venue, and we want to renew our commitment to client relationships in 2017, via:
Communication: Is critical to effective event execution. In order to foster a better, and more comfortable relationship, we pledge to reduce response times, and take on more proactive client communication in 2017. This will give our clients more information, earlier, which will help us to avoid unexpected problems.

- Integrity -- Always treat clients and associates honestly.
- Value -- Always deliver fair and good value for your client's investment.
